Next door to it was a little sliver of a space known as 'The Leopard.' He hired Juanita to run it, as a beer joint, in 1954. Customers came from Capitol Hill for lunch daily. He opened The Jungle as a bar and a successful restaurant at the corner of 7th and Commerce. Warren Jett - who was straight, as was Juanita - had been running bars all over downtown for years.
